Job Description:
As a Line Cook at The Tavern on Broadway, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes to our valued guests. Your responsibilities will involve preparing and cooking food to order, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure the efficient flow of service. Food Preparation
Follow established recipes and guidelines to prepare menu items accurately and consistently.
Adhere to portion control and quality standards to deliver delicious dishes to our guests.
Handle and prepare a variety of ingredients, including meats, vegetables, and sauces.
Cooking and Plating
Cook menu items according to guest preferences, ensuring each dish is cooked to perfection.
Plate dishes attractively, garnishing them as required for presentation.
Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Station Management
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including keeping equipment and utensils clean and in good working order.
Restock ingredients and supplies as needed during service.
Manage inventory of station items and report shortages to the Kitchen Manager.
Ticket Management
Read and interpret order tickets, preparing dishes accurately based on guest requests.
Communicate effectively with the expediting team to ensure prompt service.
Manage multiple orders simultaneously during busy periods.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff and chefs to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Communicate any issues or concerns related to food quality, safety, or equipment to superiors.
Assist colleagues when needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen environment.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining food quality standards.
